I believe that everybody’s broken. We’re all broken in different ways. Our brokenness makes us unique and beautiful. Therefore, we shouldn’t try to hide our scars or be ashamed of our inner messiness. Instead, we should recognize that we are made stronger through them. Apostle Paul says it himself when he declares “For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Cor 12:10). Remember that you have been healed by Jesus’s stripes (Is 53:5). That should be enough for you to embrace every single wound that life has inflicted on you.
Today we launch a 3-video series called Kintsugi that aims to highlight how God fills in our own brokenness with gold.
In this first part of the series, I’ve had the pleasure to have a profound conversation with pastor Kim Reid on his personal journey, his present and former ministry, as well as on brokenness.
Pastor Kim is the president and founder of On Rock Community Services located in the West Island of Montreal. Before founding ORM Kim worked for 14 years as a Child Care Worker with juvenile delinquents. He has also pastored the Open Door Church in Pierrefonds for 6 years.
In this video, he shares his views on the Church, what it is, and what it should be.
So here’s what happens when two broken people have an honest conversation about religion and the work of God.
